Categorías difusas: hacia una reconceptualización de las estelas de Abidos

Resumen

El presente trabajo problematiza la categoría de estela que los egiptólogos han utilizado para identificar y analizar un conjunto variado de objetos. Un recorrido por la conceptualización de las estelas para el sitio de Abidos, uno de los principales centros religiosos egipcios en torno al culto del dios Osiris, nos permite observar la existencia de una disparidad de alusiones explícitas e implícitas en los trabajos históricos y arqueológicos que tornan al concepto de estela una categoría difusa. Se plantea, entonces, considerando las propuestas para estudiar los objetos desde los enfoques sobre la cultura material y la materialidad, repensar el concepto y dar lugar a nuevos interrogantes para futuros estudios.
